House Republicans conducted leadership elections Wednesday, filling positions for the 116th Congress. Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was named House Minority Leader.

Through appearances at CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference, his sponsoring of numerous pieces of credit union-supported legislation and close relationship with the California and Nevada Credit Union League, he has proven himself a strong ally to credit unions and the 110 million members they serve,” CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle said. “We look forward to continuing our engagement with him to secure much-needed regulatory relief for credit unions.”
In addition to McCarthy being named House Minority Leaders, other positions filled include:
House Democrats are expected to conduct their leadership elections for Speaker of the House and other positions in late November.
