Nominations are being accepted for eight open director positions on CUNA’s board of directors.
The deadline for nominations and seconds is Dec. 13. In contested elections, voting will begin Dec. 18 and close Jan. 29. Nomination information can be found on the CUNA website.
Nominations will be accepted for the following positions:
District 2--Delaware, District of Columbia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia:
District 3--Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee:
District 5—Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Wyoming:
District 6--Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, American Samoa, Guam, Johnston Atoll, Midway Atoll, Northern Mariana Islands, Palmyra Atoll and Wake Atoll:
Two Class C and two Class D positions are also up for election. Elections for Class C (credit unions having more than 141,000 natural-person members) and Class D (leagues) will be conducted at-large nationwide, rather than by district.
The following individuals have been nominated:
Each credit union nominee must be an employee or a voting board member of the nominating credit union, with the nomination seconded in writing by at least two other credit unions from the same class and, for Class A and B, district.
Nominees to be elected by leagues must be a league chief executive officer and be nominated in writing by that league, with the nomination seconded in writing by at least one other league.
No more than two of the Board may be credit union directors from Class A, B or C from any one state and no more than one voting CUNA Director shall be from any single credit union. There are currently two CUNA directors from California; therefore, no candidates from California are eligible to be nominated and elected for the District 6, Class A position or the Class C position. There are also currently two CUNA directors from Texas; therefore, no candidates from Texas are eligible to be nominated and elected for the District 5, Class B position or the Class C position.
Directors elected will take office upon the adjournment of CUNA's Annual General Meeting in Washington, D.C., March 11, during the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference.
