Crapo Addresses Credit Unions at CUNA GAC

March 18, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 12, 2019

Washington, DC

Jim Nussle, CUNA president/CEO, released the following statement after Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID) spoke at the 2019 Credit Union National Association Governmental Affairs Conference (CUNA GAC):

“Senator Crapo has been a great partner to CUNA and credit unions over the years. Having served together in the House of Representatives, we are thankful to have his leadership in the Senate Banking Committee to get solutions across the finish line.”

Senate Banking Committee Chairman Crapo was one of the original sponsors of the Economic Growth and Regulatory Relief Act (S. 2155), which was signed into law May 2018. “We couldn’t have gotten this bill across the finish line without CUNA’s help. The Senate Banking Committee will continue to push for prompt and proper implementation.”

Crapo highlighted significant wins from 2018 including tax reform, judicial nominations, regulatory relief, and investor choice. He also cited priorities for this Congress which include housing finance reform, data privacy, two reforms that are high on CUNA’s 2019 advocacy agenda.
