CUNA announced Wednesday the appointment of Chris Lorence as Chief Credit Union Awareness Officer. Lorence will lead CUNA’s Awareness initiative, Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union®, a digital-first marketing campaign that will raise consumer consideration of credit unions.

Lorence brings more than twenty years of marketing, engagement, and growth strategy to CUNA. He has been at the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) since 1999 – most recently serving as Group Executive Vice President of Engagement & Strategy/Chief Marketing Officer.

Chris began his career in the credit union movement – serving in several capacities at Spectrum Federal Credit Union and FDIC Employees Federal Credit Union and understands its mission and is committed to the principles of the industry.
Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union® is currently live in four states – Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina and Michigan – and has already reached millions of Americans through targeted advertising. The campaign is a national effort raise the profile and understanding of credit unions among consumers and it wills see more regions launch later this year.
