CUNA Credit Union Board of Directors Conference set for Jan. 20-22

September 5, 2019

The 2020 CUNA Credit Union Board of Directors Conference, formerly known as CUNA Volunteer Conference, will take place in January 19-22, 2020, in San José Del Cabo, Mexico. Attendees will get an economic update and cover trending industry issues to help guide their 2020 strategic plans. Based off of the feedback of past attendees, this year’s curriculum will feature advanced financial topics to promote meaningful action.

“This conference is a worthwhile learning experience,” said past attendee Jo Exler, director at Fort Knox FCU. “The content is very informative and addresses current issues facing credit unions regardless of their size.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions to discuss their current problems with their peers to gain inspiration and actionable insights to grow their credit union.

Attendees will leave with:

  • New ideas and perspectives to bring to your board meetings
  • A large network of credit union board of directors
  • Industry update and insights from CUNA executives and industry leaders
  • Advocacy updates from CUNA

“The role of a board and committee member is dynamic and so is the financial services industry,” said Kienan Shaw, instructional design manager at CUNA. “With so many variables that impact board decision-making, getting peers together to discuss their challenges and share past experiences is key to maximizing board effectiveness.”
