While there are core leadership competencies that every manager should nurture, there is no one-size-fits-all leadership model. With multiple managerial styles out there, an important step in your leadership journey is to recognize and harness your unique abilities. By developing your strengths, you’ll stay true to yourself and you’ll better connect with your staff, co-workers and members.
At CUNA Emerging Leader Institute, this December in San Diego, you’ll receive guidance from leadership experts from inside and outside of the credit union industry to discover your talents and an approach to leadership development that complements your strengths. Prior to the event, you will take the Strength Deployment Inventory assessment. In addition, you’ll take charge of your career and the careers of your employees as you participate in hands-on activities to better coach and lead under tension. You’ll also discover ways to leverage your leadership skills and newfound understanding of the motive-driven behaviors of yourself and others to effectively motivate staff to accomplish strategic business goals.
