MADISON, Wis., and WASHINGTON (October 29, 2019)  – CUNA Operations & Member Experience Council and CUNA Technology Council hosted a silent auction during their conference in September to support Children's Miracle Network resulting in a $14,000 donation. The silent auction was facilitated by CUNA Council staff and volunteers with Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids), a program that connects credit union fundraising to the Children’s Miracle Network.

“CUNA Councils is all about networking and supporting our peers, and we’re proud to offer this opportunity for our members to help support the children of Chicago” says Heather Lally-Voigt, immediate past Chair of the CUNA Operations & Member Experience Council and a Chicago native.

The outstanding support and outcome of the silent auction demonstrates the credit union movement’s people helping people philosophy. Following a donation call, sponsors, credit unions and individuals donated 51 items for the auction. Participants raised $7,000 through the auction, and the CO-OP Financial Services Miracle Match program generously matched the funds.

Zack Rogers, coordinator of corporate partnerships for the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago Foundation, was on hand with some of the kids to share stories about work the hospital is doing. Rogers also accepted the check on behalf of the Children’s Miracle Network.
