CU compliance professionals can choose path for regulatory training

December 13, 2019

Credit union professionals can now choose from several 2020 regulatory compliance learning opportunities. Registration for CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification Schools and eSchools are now open. These events allow credit union professionals to choose their preferred path to compliance confidence based on their current skill level.

“Regulatory Compliance Certification School for me has been just a lifesaver. I’ve been coming for 11 years now. I don’t hit every year, but it’s so valuable,” said Tiffany Watkins, VP risk management & compliance, Jolt CU. “The people that attend whether it’s the speakers, the staff at CUNA or the attendees, we all have something different to offer and it’s been so informative and a positive experience for me.”

“The evolving regulatory environment and expanding demands compliance professionals face means compliance training is a not one-and-done event,” said Melisa Kallestad, director of compliance & lending education at CUNA. “That’s why CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification Schools and eSchools provide certification and recertification opportunities to reinforce compliance acumen, plus it’s a great way for professionals to build their peer network.”

CUNA offers two face-to-face schools and two eSchools, Introduction and Update. Introduction delivers fundamentals for professionals to gain the foundational skills for their compliance role and provides an opportunity to earn their Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) designation. Update explores current regulatory developments, regulatory deep-dives and additional professional development for the more experienced professional. CUCE designees can recertify at this school as well.
