With CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC), the credit union system’s premier advocacy event, mere weeks away, attendees are getting prepared. Registration is still open for the event, scheduled for Feb. 23-27 in Washington, D.C.
CUNA’s social media accounts asked the question: “What’s in your GAC Survival Kit?” and got some helpful answers from GAC veterans.
Facebook user Steve Bugg recommended “tons of business cards,” while Jennifer Christine Watson-Gould said “an umbrella and good shoes.” Keeping with the weather preparedness theme, Facebook user Becky Reed also recommended “a warm coat.”
LinkedIn user Clara Hori offered, “in addition to comfortable shoes and a layer for the AC chilled rooms, just enthusiasm!” Erin Laney seconded the comfortable shoes suggestion.

Water, hydration packets (like Emergen-C), snacks, comfy shoes, hair ties, portable cell phone charger, ibuprofen and a nondrowsy antihistamine. Every time I travel my body finds a new thing to be allergic to! Oh and breath mints, skip the gum cuz it's not a good look.— SymSerm (@SymSerm) January 15, 2020
