First Credit Union (FCU) marked its 90th anniversary with a service campaign called #90DaysofGiving that gave back to the communities and members it serves. The credit union, and its 140 employees donated time and money in celebration of the credit union’s anniversary.
“In celebration of our 90th anniversary, we wanted to look for opportunities to serve, volunteer and give back,” said Jay Curtis, FCU president/CEO. “We give of our time, talent and treasure in the communities we serve, because serving and giving back is a core value of who we are.”
The credit union staff participated in more than 100 events, donating both time and donations. In all, staff volunteered more than 2,747 hours, raised or donated more than $29,000, collected 305 pounds of food and walked 102 miles to raise money for various charities.
“For 90 years, FCU has existed to serve the community and our members,” Curtis said. “Our growth and longevity are attributed to solid financial principals, community service and our commitment to put members and our communities first.”
First Credit Union was established by a group of federal employees in 1929. Since then, FCU has grown to over 40,000 members and more than $476 million in assets.
