GAC keynoter Platon poses for photos backstage with conference attendees.

More than 5,500 credit union advocates attended the 2020 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) last month. CUNA News stepped backstage to ask the keynote speakers a few additional questions.

Watch the clips below for behind-the-scenes conversations with Platon, Marcus Buckingham, David Plouffe, Stephanie Cutter, and Nicolle Wallace.

Platon

World-renowned photographer Platon told attendees to take time to think about their legacies while they can still shape them.

Marcus Buckingham

Study your strengths, not weaknesses, to increase your success, says author Marcus Buckingham. "Study success. It’s different.”

David Plouffe

Politics and business are facing the same communications challenges, says political adviser David Plouffe. “I think this is a challenge for all of us that have been thinking about communicating in one way when the ground underneath us is shifting so dramatically.”

Stephanie Cutter and Nicolle Wallace

Political analysts Stephanie Cutter and Nicolle Wallace emphasize that credit unions should take advantage of the fact that they serve many people in legislators’ districts.
