CUNA’s Small Credit Union Committee conducted a call with NCUA Board Member Todd Harper Tuesday to discuss unique challenges faced by small credit unions during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
“We thank Board Member Harper for his time today, and for listening to the many ways small credit unions around the country continue to work with members to help get them through this pandemic,” said Tom Sakash, CUNA’s manager of small credit union initiatives. “Small credit unions know how to fight, and while this crisis is putting substantial strain on the leaders of these small institutions, I have no doubt that they will meet this challenge head on and overcome just as they always do.”
CUNA News spoke to leaders from several small credit unions around the country about the ways they have evolved operations to continue to meet member needs while protecting employees and following public health guidelines.
CUNA’s Small Credit Union Community is also available for credit union leaders to share ideas, best practices and concerns as the pandemic continues and consumer needs arise.
