CUs working to prepare, protect members as impact payments go out

April 13, 2020
COVID19

As more than 300 million Americans prepare to receive Economic Impact Payments this week, America’s credit unions are working to make sure consumers are prepared and protected, CUNA Chief Advocacy Officer Ryan Donovan wrote to all 535 Congressional offices Monday.

“America's credit unions are committed to ensuring that your constituents have fast, secure access to these vital funds to keep them on their feet during these trying times,” Donovan wrote.

He also highlighted how, among other resources, CUNA continues to share information with members on fraud prevention alerts from the government and other entities, as well as continued updates on EIP and other relief delivery protocols.

The CUNA/American Association of Credit Union Leagues COVID-19 Response Center also contains resources for credit unions on compliance, cybersecurity, member communications and the latest guidance from federal agencies on programs such as the Paycheck Protection Program and EIPs.
