Indiana League cooperates on Eviction/Foreclosure Resource Guide

April 13, 2020

The Indiana Credit Union League participated with the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) and four other organizations (Indiana Department of Financial Institutions, Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association, Indiana Apartment Association and Indiana Bankers Association) to create an Eviction/Foreclosure Resource Guide to inform homeowners and renters on the importance of continuing to make their monthly housing payments, or what to do if they are experiencing a hardship.

The IHCDA issued a press release with comments from Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch to bring attention to it, and to Indiana’s Hardest Hit Fund (HHF) which helps homeowners avoid losing their homes to foreclosure.

The release mentions participation by the League, and it directs consumers to the guide, and contains answers to some frequently asked questions and other resources. The information is largely directed at renters, but it does encourage people to “check in with your mortgage lender,” if they need assistance making payments.

League President John McKenzie commented, “We are pleased to have participated in this guide, and to cooperate with other state-level organizations to help consumers get answers to the common questions they have.”
