CUNA continues its engagement with policymakers as the fourth phase of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) legislation is put together. CUNA wrote to House Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) Tuesday commenting on several parts of the proposed legislation that is already available and highlighting additional needs to help credit unions serve their members.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has presented small businesses, consumers, and community-based financial institutions with an unprecedented challenge,” the letter reads. “Nonetheless, CUNA is confident that credit unions will be able to continue delivering critical financial services to members throughout the duration of the pandemic.”
