CUNA/Leagues continue advocacy during, beyond COVID-19

May 18, 2020
CoronaCDC

Despite the focus on the pandemic and recovery efforts, CUNA still continues work on its 2020 advocacy agenda, CUNA Chief Advocacy Officer Ryan Donovan says in this week’s Advocacy update video.

Donovan also discusses the recent House passage of the latest coronavirus disease (COVID-19) relief legislation, and additional COVID-19 related advocacy issues CUNA remains focused on.

CUNA’s 2020 advocacy agenda, developed in conjunction with Leagues and credit unions, is:

  • Reduce regulatory burden so that credit unions have access to more efficient and affordable financial services from credit unions;
  • Expand and protect credit union powers and opportunities so that consumers and small businesses can more easily access the credit union services they need and demand;
  • Enhance information security to ensure credit union member data is protected from cyberattacks and data breaches; and
  • Preserve the credit union tax status so that credit union members continue to enjoy not-for-profit cooperative financial services.

The complete update can be found below.
