eSchool now available for Certified CU Board Member designation

May 29, 2020

CUNA's Certified Credit Union Board Member eSchool is now available through Dec. 21 2021. The new eSchool provides credit union board members the essential knowledge to perform their duties effectively with the flexibility to take the nine sessions at their own pace. Attendees will also be eligible to earn their Certified Credit Union Board Member designation (CCUB).

"Every board member should get their CCUB,” says Joe Schultz, supervisory committee member at Neighbors CU. “This was probably the best learning opportunity that I've had during my time in credit unions. It's a great opportunity to focus on the necessary financial acumen necessary for volunteers."

“Credit union board members are facing many difficult decisions that impact their credit union’s ability to rebound and move forward,” says Kienan Shaw, instructional design manager at CUNA. “This eSchool is designed to give attendees a flexible option to strengthen the core competencies needed for successful board leadership.”

This recorded eSchool prepares board members for their operational and governance role, while also showing their commitment to their role by earning the CCUB designation.

Topics include:

  • Fundamentals of Finance for Directors
  • Asset Liability Management for Directors
  • Compliance Fundamentals Overview
  • Board Governance Essentials for Directors
  • Board Duties & Authority/Board Liability & Insurance for Directors
