June 15, 2020
Cap1

The House and Senate are both in session this week and CUNA will engage committees on both chambers on a number of hearings, most related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Senate is expected to resume floor consideration of the Great American Outdoors Act, and the House will conduct committee meetings, but is not expected to hold any votes on the House floor.

Hearings include:

  • Tuesday 10 a.m. (ET): Senate Banking Committee hearing, “The Semiannual Monetary Policy Report to the Congress” with Federal Reserve Board Chair Jerome Powell;
  • Tuesday, noon (ET): House Financial Services subcommittee on national security, international development, and monetary policy hearing, “Cybercriminals and Fraudsters: How Bad Actors Are Exploiting the Financial System During the COVID-19 Pandemic;”
  • Wednesday, noon (ET): The House Financial Services Committee will hear a semiannual monetary policy report from Powell;
  • Wednesday, 1 p.m. (ET): House Small Business Committee hearing, “Paycheck Protection Program: Loan Forgiveness and Other Challenges.”
