Interactive HR compliance virtual conference set for July

July 2, 2020
HRConf

A new opportunity for HR professionals to review current regulations is now available through CUNA HR Compliance Rule Changes Virtual Conference happening July 28 and 30. Attendees will address regulatory changes stemming from COVID-19 to better protect workers’ rights in addition to the health and safety of members and staff alike.

"An unprecedented number of HR-related requirements and guidance documents have been issued in the past several months,” says Jared Ihrig, chief compliance officer & counsel at CUNA. “Credit unions are working incredibly hard to process the impact of these issuances and to create the internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance while fully supporting their members and staff, but this will remain an ongoing challenge.”

“This interactive, virtual conference gives professionals the information they need now to adapt their policies for the current environment,” says James Carrick, vice president of learning events at CUNA. “We are excited to provide a new option for HR professionals to meet, learn and connect in order to review critical HR regulatory changes as well as share experiences with peers.”

This conference includes six, 45-minute sessions that will cover the latest regulatory changes related to the current pandemic and their impact on credit union policies. Question and answer sessions with subject matter experts in credit union HR compliance and fellow attendees facing the same challenges are built in to provide real-world takeaways.

Key regulations covered include:

  • Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA)
  • Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES)
  • Family and Medical leave Act (FMLA)
  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

CUNA Credit Union HR Compliance Professional (CUHRCP) designees will qualify for recertification by completing this conference.

This event has been endorsed by the CUNA HR & Organizational Development Council.
