August 19, 2020
Elections

Twenty-one credit union-supported candidates won primaries Tuesday in Alaska, Florida and Wyoming.

Former Congresswoman Cynthia Lummis won the Republican Senate primary in Wyoming, where she will face off against Democrat Merav Ben-David, a professor and activist for the seat left open by retiring Sen. Mike Enzi (R).

Lummis defeated nine other opponents in the primary. She previously served four terms in the House from 2007-2017.

Tuesday’s victories bring the total number of credit union-backed candidate wins this cycle to 338, a more than 96% victory rate.
