Bill Bynum, CEO of Hope FCU, Jackson, Miss., has been appointed to the Biden-Harris Agency Review Team for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). According to the transition team, these review team members will work to understand agency operations to prepare the President-elect, Vice President-elect and their cabinet.

“Congratulations to Bill Bynum for being named to the Biden-Harris Agency Review Team. We appreciate him bringing the credit union perspective on the CFPB to the incoming administration,” said CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle. “The work Bill and Hope FCU have done to promote financial well-being and to advance the interests of his local community, especially in response to the pandemic, is a great example of the credit union difference in action.”

Bynum helped Hope FCU become a top credit union lender for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). In normal years, Hope FCU makes around 40 business loans per year, but it made more than 2,500 PPP loans since the pandemic began.
