NYCUA, CUNA issue statement as Schumer named Senate Majority Leader

January 21, 2021
Cap1

The New York Credit Union Association (NYCUA) and Credit Union National Association (CUNA) issued a statement today congratulating Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on being named Senate Majority Leader.

“The New York Credit Union Association and Credit Union National Association congratulate Sen. Schumer for the recognition bestowed on him by his colleagues. Sen. Schumer has worked with credit unions for many years to advance consumers’ financial well-being – most recently by ensuring credit unions could participate and support small businesses through the Paycheck Protection Program. He’s long championed the credit union tax status and clearly understands the critical role of credit unions in the financial services landscape. As our economy rebuilds, we look forward to continuing our work with the new majority leader, his caucus, and all members of Congress to bring the benefits of credit unions to even more Americans.”
