CUNA engaged w/ COVID stimulus, scams, business hearings

Both chambers of Congress are in session this week, and CUNA will be engaged with several committee hearings. Congress will also continue negotiations on economic stimulus legislation due, including a potential budget resolution.

The House Financial Services Committee is expected to meet Wednesday to organize the committee for the new Congress.

Hearings CUNA is engaged with this week include (all hearings on Thursday):

  • 10 a.m. (ET): House Financial Services Committee hearing, “More than a Shot in the Arm: The Need for Additional COVID-19 Stimulus;
  • 10 a.m. (ET): House Small Business Committee hearing, “State of the Small Business Economy in the Era of COVID-19;”
  • Noon (ET): House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Commerce hearing, “Safeguarding American Consumers: Fighting Fraud and Scams During the Pandemic;”
  • 3 p.m. (ET): House Financial Services Subcommittee on National Security, International Development and Monetary Policy hearing, “Supporting Small and Minority-Owned Businesses Through the Pandemic.”
