Finalists demonstrate dedication to credit union principles.

Vote now: 2021 #CUHero of the Year

Voting is now open for Credit Union Magazine's 2021 Credit Union Hero of the Year, sponsored by Symitar.

 

The four finalists are:

  • Cheryl Deborde, president/CEO at $279 million asset Members Choice Credit Union in Ashland, Ky.
  • Nick Kessenich, retired president at $28 million asset Members First Credit Union in Madison, Wis.
  • Bill Lawton, president/CEO at $1.1 billion asset Community Financial Credit Union in Plymouth, Mich.
  • Val Mindak, president/CEO at $275 million asset Park City Credit Union in Merrill, Wis.

"These Credit Union Heroes have served their members and communities for nearly their whole lives," says Todd Spiczenski, CUNA chief products and services officer. "They are creating innovative programs at their credit unions, and they're champions for the credit union movement."

This year's Credit Union Heroes demonstrate leadership through community initiatives, movement advocacy, and exceptional member service. They create cultures of caring, prioritize member needs, promote financial wellness, and unite credit union voices.

The readers of Credit Union Magazine nominated these leaders as 2021 Credit Union Heroes. Now, readers are encouraged to select one of them as the 2021 Credit Union Hero of the Year.
