Cybercrime prevention and response leads upcoming CUNA eSchool with NASCUS

April 30, 2021
Cybersecurity Safeguards

Credit union professionals can learn tactics in cybercrime prevention and response from industry professionals and stakeholders by attending CUNA Cybersecurity eSchool with NASCUS. A combination of live and recorded sessions will be held September 3 through November 9.

“Cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility, from the board to frontline staff,” said Melisa Kallestad, director of compliance education at CUNA. “Cybersecurity remains a NCUA examination priority, and recent compromises of SolarWinds and vulnerabilities of Microsoft Exchange stand as reminders the growing pervasiveness of the cyber threat.”

A sound cybersecurity strategy requires understanding the risk, then tailoring policies and procedures to the credit union’s specific vulnerabilities and operational posture. CUNA Cybersecurity eSchool with NASCUS provides education and training for all levels of experience. Topics include risk assessments, ransomware, threat hunting, cloud technologies, employee training programs and InTrex CU.

Seven eSchool sessions will be live, and seven will be prerecorded.
