Credit Union Awareness LLC announced Tuesday it is expanding the Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union® campaign in Texas and Oklahoma, just two weeks after launching the campaign in Wyoming, which became the 26th state to participate in the program.
“There is no doubt that this past year has been challenging. But in difficult times, consumers need to know that credit unions have their backs,” said Chris Lorence, executive director of Credit Union Awareness LLC. “Thank you to our newest contributors in Texas and Oklahoma, and the Cornerstone League, for opening consumers’ eyes to the credit union difference.”
Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union has gained more than 1,116 supporting organizations, including six new contributors in Texas and Oklahoma: InTouch CU (TX), Memorial CU (TX), River City FCU (TX), Scott & White ECU (TX), Southwest Financial FCU (TX), and Central Oklahoma FCU (OK). The campaign has launched in 26 states and is expected to launch in at least four other states in the upcoming months.
“In the last year, credit unions have innovated to expand their offerings and meet members where they are,” said Cornerstone League President/CEO Caroline Willard. “Through Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union, we’re taking that innovation to the next level and helping expand credit union awareness on a regional and national level. Our contributors are a critical component of that effort, and I am so happy to welcome our new contributors.”
As of April 1, 2021, Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union has gained over 2.57 billion impressions and earned 959 million video views since its inception. In addition, it has driven 6 million consumers to the campaign’s consumer-facing website YourMoneyFurther.com promoting the benefits of joining a credit union.
