Committees to host hearings on Biden budget proposal

Both chambers of Congress are in session this week, as the House will consider several bills and the Senate will resume judicial nominations. CUNA will be engaged with several hearings this week, including ones on the administration’s fiscal year 2022 budget proposal.

These hearings include one conducted by the Senate Finance Committee Wednesday, and one by the House Ways and Means Committee Thursday with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.

Other hearings this week include:

  • Tuesday, 10 a.m. (ET): House Committee on Financial Services Task Force on Financial Technology hearing, “Digitizing the Dollar: Investigating the Technological Infrastructure, Privacy, and Financial Inclusion Implications of Central Bank Digital Currencies;”
  • Wednesday, House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing, Community Development, and Insurance hearing, “Flexible Federal Funding: Examining the Community Development Block Grant Program and Its Impact on Addressing Local Challenges.”
  • Thursday, Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee hearing, "Reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program, Part II."
