President Joe Biden named Sandra L. Thompson as acting director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) this week.
Her appointment follows Wednesday’s U.S. Supreme Court decision that found the president may remove the FHFA director at will, and Biden removed President Donald Trump-appointed Director Mark Calabria following the decision.
Thompson has served as deputy director of FHFA’s Division of Housing Mission and Goals since 2013.
Prior to joining FHFA, Thompson worked at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation for more than 23 years in a variety of leadership positions.
