Credit union trainers can learn how to create adaptive exams

July 15, 2021
Online training hub keeps staff up to speed

Trainers can learn how to improve learning assessments for credit union staff using functionality in the Articulate Storyline software by attending the July 23 CUNA webinar Creating Branched Exams Using Articulate Storyline.

“Articulate Storyline is a tool that is commonly used by credit unions to develop eLearning. One of its useful and perhaps underutilized features is its ability to score only the exam questions viewed by the learner, allowing the learner to be taken down a branch of questions and not requiring them to answer all the questions in the exam” said Alicia Steindorf, director of online learning strategy for CUNA. “Branching within exams in this way has multiple potential use cases which we will explain and demonstrate in this webinar.”

For example, trainers can open the door to adaptive exams, testing learners with fewer questions than previously necessary in order to demonstrate competency in a skill. They can also be used to test soft skills in a way that better simulates real world experiences than multiple choice exams. “Having this knowledge can open a world of opportunity for credit unions who are looking to enhance the effectiveness of their  eLearning exams,” said Jenny Saucerman, manager of online learning instructional design for CUNA.

The webinar is presented free of charge by CUNA Professional Development Online (CPD Online). To learn more, visit cuna.org/cpdonline.
