Calling 2022 Credit Union Hero nominations

November 8, 2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 8, 2021
Washington, DC

Credit Union Magazine announced that nominations for the 2022 Credit Union Hero Award, sponsored by Symitar, will be accepted starting Nov. 8.

“This is the 15th year that Credit Union Magazine has sought stories about the unsung heroes of the movement. Over the years, the Credit Union Hero program has highlighted those who have made a profound difference to their credit union, their peers, and their communities,” said Publisher Michelle Willits. “We look forward to reading this year’s nominations.”

“We’re proud once again to sponsor Credit Union Magazine’s Credit Union Hero Program,” said Shanon McLachlan, vice president of Jack Henry and president of Symitar. “Each year, we have the pleasure of recognizing heroes who strive to improve the financial lives and well-being of their members, as well as embody the people-helping-people philosophy that inspires our community every day.”

So, what makes a Credit Union Hero? Qualified individuals:

  • Are credit union system employees or volunteers
  • Are unsung heroes, going above and beyond to promote credit union philosophy
  • Take a stand or demonstrate a strong belief in credit union philosophy
  • Show dedication to credit union principles
  • Make a difference in their community
  • Are working or retired

Nominations for Heroes close on Dec. 13. Credit Union Magazine will identify finalists and launch final Hero of the Year voting in February.
