NCUA posts 2022-23 proposed budget, sets Dec. 8 public briefing

NCUA’s draft staff budget for 2022–2023 is now available on the agency’s website for review and comment. CUNA is currently reviewing the proposed budget and will submit detailed feedback prior to the Dec. 9 comment deadline.

CUNA Chief Economist Mike Schenk will speak at a public budget briefing hosted by NCUA  Dec. 8, beginning at 2 p.m. Eastern. The meeting will be livestreamed on NCUA.gov.

The proposed budget summary and detailed budget justifications can be found on the Budget and Supplementary Materials page on NCUA.gov.

Highlights include:

  • The proposed combined 2022 budget is $345.3 million, or 1.2% higher than the 2021 budget.
  • The proposed operating budget is $326.6 million, which is 3.6% higher than in 2021.
  • The proposed 2022 capital budget is $13.1 million, or 30.7% lower than in 2021.
  • The proposed Share Insurance Fund administrative budget is $6.2 million, or 21.7% lower than in 2021.
