The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has issued Request for Information on the implementing regulations for the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA). According to the CFPB, it plans to review recent changes and evaluate their effectiveness with the goals of identifying discrimination in the market.
The request for information will look at institutional and transactional coverage, the data points, the benefits of new data and disclosure requirements and operational and compliance costs.
The CFPB finalized changes to HMDA regulations in 2015, expanding the types of data reported by lenders.
