Salem promotes DEI at 2022 CUNA GAC

February 23, 2022

CUNA’s Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Samira Salem recently appeared on CUBroadcast to promote the DEI breakout sessions at the 2022 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC).

“It’s going to be in conversational format,” said Salem. “We’ll be talking to credit union system partners who are really leading the effort around diversity, equity and inclusion.”

There will be two DEI breakout sessions. Salem will be moderating: “The Real Real on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.”

Juan Fernández Ceballos, president/CEO of the Credit Union Association of New Mexico, will be moderating “Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: The Key to Advancing Communities, Financial Well-Being for All and our Future.”

Salem hopes to dismantle myths around DEI, as well as, how to lead in DEI. She also encourages attendees to bring questions to the sessions.

The DEI sessions will also be available virtually. Watch the full interview below.
