ILC loophole bill scheduled for markup this week

The House and Senate are both in session this week and will consider various legislation.

The House Financial Services Committee will hold a markup on the CUNA-supported Close ILC Loophole Act (H.R. 5912) starting Tuesday.

Other hearings CUNA is engaged with this week include:

  • Tuesday, 10 a.m. ET: Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee hearing: “Considering the Index Fund Voting Process.”
  • Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. ET: House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Commerce hearing: "Protecting America's Consumers: Bipartisan Legislation to Strengthen Data Privacy and Security."
  • Tuesday, 2:30 p.m. ET: Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) hearing on FY23 budget request for the Treasury Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, and the Treasury Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.
  • Thursday, 11 a.m. ET: House Appropriations FSGG Subcommittee markup for FY23 FSGG bill.
