Hawaii Credit Union League Marx shares new role excitement

July 7, 2022
Carol Marx

Hawaii Credit Union League’s new President/CEO Carol Marx went on the CUInsight Experience Podcast to talk about her excitement and involvement in the credit union movement.

“I am excited to be in this role because credit unions have done so much for their membership,” said Marx. “I am excited that credit unions are present and aware of their community needs.”

Carol has worked in financial services for over 30 years, including time with two of the largest community banks in Hawaii. She recalls her early career marketing to credit unions and their employees always being “warm and welcoming”.

“The serving heart individual definitely will have an opportunity to have a great, long career in credit unions. I notice that people who start their employment with credit unions often don’t leave. There’s a lot of tenure. The reason is the culture is so embracing and welcoming,” added Marx.

Marx shared that reflecting on past success and seeking staff input have been an integral part of her start with the League. She also adds her vision of success within her first year includes adjusting to economic changes, supporting community safety, and addressing mental wellness in Hawaii.
