Final asset threshold rule, cyber incident proposal on NCUA’s July 21 agenda

July 15, 2022
NCUALogo

The NCUA Board will vote on a proposed cyber incident notification rule and a final supervision asset threshold rule at its July 21 meeting. The meeting will be conducted via webcast starting at 10 a.m. ET on NCUA.gov.

CUNA largely supported NCUA’s asset threshold rule as proposed but called on NCUA to ensure there is “sufficient expertise at the Regional Office level” to properly supervise the new asset class proposed in the rule (between $10 billion and $50 billion in assets).

The complete agenda is:

  • Board briefing, 2022 mid-session budget.
  • Final rule, parts 700, 701, 708a, 708b, 750 and 790, asset and supervision threshold for determining the appropriate supervisory office.
  • Proposed rule, part 748, cyber incident notification requirements.
