The League of Southeastern Credit Unions and member credit unions have met with governors of Alabama and Florida in recent weeks to discuss the credit union difference and advocacy priorities.

Members of LSCU’s Alabama Advocacy Committee met with Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey in Montgomery to discuss financial literacy for all Alabamians. LSCU was honored to be a part of Alabama’s Making $ense coalition, a group dedicated to promoting financial literacy through video learning modules last year.

Credit union leaders met with also met with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to discuss the League’s priorities ahead of the 2023 Legislative Session and to thank him for his leadership on the financial literacy legislation he signed into law earlier this year.

DeSantis was receptive to credit union priorities and looks forward to working with credit unions together in the coming year.
