Technology, operations, and member experience professionals descended on Las Vegas from Sept. 21-24 for the 2022 CUNA Operations & Member Experience Council and CUNA Technology Council Conference. Attendees shared ideas on technological advancements, cybersecurity threats, member experience, employee engagement, cryptocurrency, fraud protection, and more.

Some highlights from the event:

  • Fortalice Solutions CEO Theresa Payton shared her experiences at the White House and CBS while making cybersecurity predictions for 2022 and 2023.
  • A panel of credit union leaders discussed how to re-engage employees and focus on member experience in the wake of the pandemic.
  • DoubleCheck Solutions was named Best of Show after session one and session two of Speed Rounds, during which 22 companies pitched their innovative technology solutions.
  • DePaul University Associate Professor of Finance Lamont Black explained the impact the blockchain and cryptocurrency can have on the credit union movement.
  • Raddon’s Caroline Vahrenkamp and Fiserv’s David Johnson walked through how self-service options increase member flexibility and employee satisfaction.
  • Fiserv Vice President of Product Patti Reid connected the dots between member experience and fraud.
  • A roundtable exchange covered the impact technology has on employees, members, and operations.
  • Illuma Founder/CEO Milind Borka walked through how passive voice authentication can improve fraud protection.
  • A team engagement panel discussed the importance of employees being their authentic selves at work, and how credit unions can foster that environment.
  • A panel of security professionals shared how to adopt successful cybersecurity measures regardless of budget.
  • Photos highlighted the four-day conference at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
  • A panel discussed the information security talent war during the annual Security Summit that precedes the conference.
  • The Security Summit also covered how the pandemic altered the security landscape. 
  • Directions Credit Union Senior Vice President/Retail Delivery Julie Linch earned the 2022 CUNA Operations & Member Experience Council Professional of the Year Award.
  • MSU Federal Credit Union Service Desk Manager Chris Boyle won the CUNA Technology Council’s 2022 Rising Star Award.
  • Visions Federal Credit Union Senior Vice President of Digital Assets Cynthia Schroeder was named the 2022 CUNA Technology Council Professional of the Year.
