CUNA Emerging Leaders School focuses on career development

October 17, 2022
Why is ‘leadership’ so misunderstood?

Emerging credit union leaders can enhance their leadership skills during a three-day intensive program, CUNA Emerging Leaders School, to be held both virtually and in person Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, 2022 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

“We are excited to offer an interactive, hybrid, leadership-focused event,” said Ariel Bilskey, CUDE, senior director of learning strategy for CUNA. “Career development has been on hold for many people throughout this year and during the pandemic. To help staff fill that gap, this powerful program offers learning from leadership experts and seasoned credit union leaders. Because the event is available both virtually and in-person, it is an ideal opportunity to build leadership ability before the end of 2022.”

Managers, young professionals across all functional areas and people from small credit unions looking for leadership opportunities will have the opportunity to:

  • Create a foundation for teammates to be innovative, authentic and inclusive
  • Identify strengths and opportunities via a leadership assessment
  • Learn how to leverage their strengths in everyday situations
  • Learn how to develop strong, collaborative relationships
  • Deepen personal accountability as a team player

Steve Farber, world-renowned keynote speaker and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, created the Extreme Leadership Institute, which is providing the structure and sessions for CUNA Emerging Leaders School. The Extreme Leadership curriculum addresses:

  • Having passion for the work you do, the people you work with and the clients you work for
  • Building and being part of a highly engaged, positive team
  • Encouraging a culture that acts towards cultivating positive change
  • Personal accountability and ownership for noticeable results

Both CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council and CUNA Operations and Member Experience Council have endorsed the event.
