Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and its federal political action committee, CULAC, have committed a total of $2.5 million in campaign advertisements to help advance credit union supporters, including Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) in her competitive race.
“Senator Cortez Masto has been a leader in protecting the financial privacy of consumers and knows credit unions are on the front lines helping Nevada families deal with rising costs in this economy. We’re proud to support her and are committed to ensuring Nevadan credit union members know that she has their backs,” said Trey Hawkins, Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer for Political Action.
CUNA is partnering with the Nevada Credit Union League to support Sen. Cortez Masto. Nevada credit union members are receiving digital ads and direct mail.
Through its $2.5 million effort, CUNA and CULAC are also looking to influence voters in other key federal races, including:
CUNA previously ran ads for Katie Britt (R-AL-SEN) in her successful primary and runoff elections earlier this year.
CULAC is one of the five largest trade association PACs and among the most bipartisan PACs in the country. CULAC works with state leagues to identify, vet, and back congressional candidates who support credit unions and the CUNA-League system’s efforts to promote financial well-being for all.
"We are proud of our bipartisan track record of backing pro-credit union candidates in hundreds of races each cycle,” said Hawkins. “We look forward to celebrating with this year’s candidates on November 9th and to welcoming them to the 118th Congress in January.”
CULAC and state leagues supported 333 credit union candidates during the midterm primaries with a 96% success rate. To see all CULAC-supported candidates, visit cuna.org/elections.
