CUNA, Leagues, and credit unions welcomed members of the 118th Congress to Washington, D.C., Wednesday with a welcome reception at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center and visits at Capitol Hill offices this week.
Members of Congress and staff attended the credit union reception despite continuing votes for Speaker of the House happening concurrently on the floor.
“I want to thank League partners, presidents, and advocates who have done an outstanding job of encouraging new members of Congress and staffers to come by, and also for conducting a number of successful meetings this week,” said CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle. “I heard many conversations about how credit unions were the first people in the new members’ offices, and I can tell you from experience, it's very impactful to be the first ones there making an impression.”
