The 2023 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) kicks off Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, with a record-breaking more than 5,500 credit union leaders and advocates registered to attend.

Events kick off Sunday with roundtables, orientations, and other meetings. The first general session kicks off Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.

For those who are headed to the nation’s capital for the event, there are several ways to ensure you’re able to make the most of your experience.

Download the official 2023 CUNA GAC app for your smartphone. Search “CUNA GAC 2023” in the App Store or Google Play and log in using the information you provided at registration. Additional login information has been emailed to attendees.

The app contains a complete schedule of CUNA GAC, as well as speaker and vendor information, general and breakout session information, CUNA’s advocacy briefing documents, maps, and more.

App users are encouraged to post updates on their activities throughout the conference.

The exhibit hall opens with a reception starting Sunday at 5 p.m. ET, and will be open Monday during breakfast and afternoon hours, as well as Tuesday during breakfast, lunch and from 3:45 to 5 p.m. ET.

Keynote speakers for the event include: poet Sekou Andrews, author/futurist Peter Diamandis, former White House Advisor Karl Rove and former White House Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri.

Breakout sessions will take place Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning and will cover topics such as:

  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion progress.
  • Advocacy from a variety of stakeholder perspectives.
  • Financial Well-being for All.

A new addition this year s DEI Tuesday, a series of events Feb. 28 covering how credit unions can expand their work serving and empowering communities of color and promoting equity for all.

CUNA GAC can be followed on social media at #CUNAGAC, while credit union advocacy will be shared using #CUDifference. During the conference, follow CUNA’s Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for regular updates.
