Financial regulator testimony, stablecoin hearing scheduled this week

The House and Senate are in Washington, D.C., this week, with the House considering various legislation and the Senate considering judicial nominations. 

Federal financial regulators--including NCUA Chairman Todd Harper--are scheduled to testify before the House Financial Services Committee Tuesday and the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee Thursday. 

Other hearings CUNA is engaged with this week include:

  • Wednesday, 10 a.m. ET: House Financial Services joint subcommittee hearing, "Continued Oversight Over Regional Bank Failures."
  • Wednesday, 2 p.m. ET: House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance hearing, “The Current Mortgage Market: Undermining Housing Affordability with Politics.”
  • Thursday, 9 a.m. ET: House Financial Services Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology, and Inclusion hearing, “Putting the ‘Stable’ in ‘Stablecoins:’ How Legislation Will Help Stablecoins Achieve Their Promise."
