Best Business Books of 2012: Biographies

December 13, 2012
No Comments

Among the top business biographies of 2012, according to strategy+business are profiles of three icons: Dwight Eisenhower, Steve Jobs, and Clarence Birdseye.

Each of these subjects illustrate how individual success “often is rooted in a merging of disciplinary virtuosity,” writes reviewer Alice Schroeder, author of 2009’s “The Snowball: Warren Buffet and the Business of Life.”

“Eisenhower combined political genius with superb executive skills,” according to Schroeder. “Jobs wed the sensibility of an aesthete to an innovator’s appreciation of technology. As for Birdseye, he once said that he “was not cut out for a career in pure science and wanted to get into some field where [he] could apply scientific knowledge to an economic opportunity.”
