Photos: CBI's Modern Branch Designs

Firm's contemporary designs offer self-service options but promote staff interaction.

LGE Community Roswell

At LGE Community CU's new branch in Roswell, Ga., designed by Consultants & Builders, Inc., members conduct routine transactions on ATM kiosks, and can meet with personal financial representatives at tables designed to promote productive, comfortable conversations.

LGE Community Credit Union couldn't be more pleased with the craftsmanship Consultants & Builders, Inc. (CBI), demonstrated in developing, designing, and constructing its branch of the future.

The $992 million asset credit union based in Marietta, Ga., recently celebrated the grand opening of its 3,342-square-foot facility in nearby Roswell that offers an open branch environment combining self-service and personal interactions.

"The design process was thorough and comprehensive, the build-out was on time and under estimate, and we are very proud of the finished product," says Billy Shaw, vice president of corporate services for LGE Community.

The Roswell branch is the first of the credit union's next generation of financial centers. The delivery model for this branch relies solely on ATMs to handle the most routine transactions, allowing the credit union’s employees to inform, promote, and educate members about the benefits of their products.

Employees are trained on those aspects of the business and not on handling transactions, as they had been in the past.

"Branches are still vital, but what occurs there is changing," says Mark Maness, CBI executive vice president.

The Norcross, Ga.-based firm has worked with credit unions and other financial institutions since 1986 to develop innovative branches that deepen member relationships.
