BIRMINGHAM, Ala., and TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (3/25/15)--For the third consecutive year, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions and Affiliates (LSCU) will provide a dues rebate to its affiliated credit unions in Alabama and Florida.
The dues rebate of 6.7% was made possible by a strong financial year in 2014 by LSCU and
LEVERAGE, the league service corporation.
"Through our dues rebate and patronage dividends, we have returned more than $1 million to member credit unions over the past three years," said Patrick La Pine, LSCU president/CEO. "Our streamlined operations, excellent educational offerings and another good year from LEVERAGE all worked together to make this dues rebate possible."
He added: "The more credit unions that participate and do business with the league and LEVERAGE directly correlates to the success of all of our member credit unions."
Alabama and Florida credit unions received their first-ever dues rebate in 2013.
"Not many state leagues can say they have offered a dues rebate and patronage dividend for three straight years," said Steve Swofford, LSCU/LEVERAGE board chair and president/CEO, Alabama CU, Tuscaloosa.
The dues rebate will come in the form of a paper check in April. Some restrictions do apply to the rebate:
Also, credit unions that participate in LEVERAGE's CO-OP debit card program have received an additional $300,000 in rebates since 2013.
