HARTFORD, Conn. (1/20/15)--Bruce Adams, Connecticut Department of Banking general counsel, has been appointed by Gov. Dannel Malloy to serve as acting commissioner of the state Department of Banking (DOB) until a successor is appointed.
"Acting Commissioner Adams was instrumental in assisting us with the passage of the sales tax exemption for state-chartered credit unions last year, which created parity between the charters," said Jill Nowacki, president/CEO of the Connecticut Credit Union League. "We are confident that we will continue to have a productive relationship with the department under his leadership."
Prior to working at the DOB, Adams served as deputy legal counsel for Malloy.
Adams has experience in securities law and commercial litigation from when he worked at the law firm Day Pitney and clerked in the U.S. District Court in the southern district of New York.
