"We are excited that we have the opportunity to educate and engage our credit unions' staff and volunteers about the legislative process at the state level," said Terry Tucker, vice president of lending, Pine FCU, Pine Bluff, Ark., and chair of the Arkansas Governmental Affairs Subcommittee for the Cornerstone Credit Union League. "We hope to make this an annual event."
The committee meetings kicked off the day, followed by a luncheon at the Capitol cafeteria, according to association President Reta Kahley (Leaguer March 27).
There, Arkansas's new Attorney General Lesley Rutledge addressed the group about the purpose and scope of her office. Sen. Bill Samples (R-Hot Springs) followed with a discussion about the 90th General Assembly.
The day finished with visits with members of the House and Senate.
