HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (10/8/14)--This month, Teachers FCU (TFCU), Hauppauge, N.Y., with $5 billion in assets, will launch the first part of its TFCUniversity Business Clinic series that it's created to help business owners on Long Island succeed.
The first installment--called "Secrets to Building Your Business on Long Island"--scheduled for Oct. 23 in the credit union's headquarters in Hauppauge, invites business owners and leaders to come together to learn about cutting-edge topics and trends in the business world.
TFCU will run the series on a quarterly basis.
"As a locally grown credit union, it is our goal to provide other Long Island businesses the tools needed to thrive," said Robert G. Allen, TFCU president/CEO. "Through the TFCUniversity Business Clinic series of quarterly events, we can help small business owners by giving them the opportunity to learn from local experts in our community and take this newfound knowledge directly back to their businesses."
The keynote speaker for this first event will be Susan Axelrod, founder of the highly successful New York-based company Love and Quiches, which she started in her kitchen 40 years ago.
In addition to the keynote address, the event will feature a panel discussion among successful New York business people.
The discussion will cover subjects such as demographics, Long Island's unique geography, using consumers as ambassadors to promote business, hiring the right people and diversifying your revenue base.
