MADISON, Wis. (3/10/15)--The credit union calendar program continues to make a difference for Children's Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals. Administered through CUNA Strategic Services (CSS), the calendars are branded as Credit Unions for Kids.

In 2014, the program sold 25,713 units and equaled nearly $1,900 in credit union donations through the Credit Unions for Kids program.
The program's five-year total includes 145,869 calendars sold, with more than $11,863 in donations.
When credit unions purchase the specially branded calendars, 10% of the purchase price is donated to CMN Hospitals through the Credit Unions for Kids program. Credit union donations serve children in the credit unions' geographic areas. In addition, CSS donates 10% of the net proceeds from the sale of the branded calendars.
Each year, CSS randomly selects a purchasing credit union to receive its donation from the calendar sales. This year, CSS donated $725, in the name of $18 million asset Jersey Central FCU, Cranford, N.J.
"The tie-in with Credit Unions for Kids and CMN Hospitals is terrific," said Jersey Central Federal Chief Financial Officer Gennifer Starita. "This program gives back in such a special way, and I believe those who participate truly feel like they're making a difference. It feels good to be able to do something to support children, while also providing our members with high-quality calendars.
Calling the program a "wonderful cause," she added, "Being able to help CMN Hospitals is very important--every contribution makes a difference."
